1.4 Sustainable Solutions Material Impacts, Risks and Opportunities

The Schréder Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Directors oversee this commitment strategically, maintaining a coherent and structured business strategy that promotes the continuous development of a sustainable, energy- efficient product and service portfolio aligned with our climate ambitions. Optimised Energy Consumption The energy consumed during a luminaire’s use phase represents its greatest environmental impact by far. Therefore, accelerating the transition from outdated lighting installations to high- efficiency LED solutions is the most effective way to reduce overall emissions. At Schréder, we focus our innovation efforts on delivering lighting solutions that significantly reduce energy consumption in real-world applications. This reduction is achieved through a systematic integration of high-performance LED technology, precision-engineered optics, intelligent dimming profiles, connected control systems and solar- powered solutions. Together, these technologies enable substantial reductions in energy use while maintaining or improving lighting quality and safety. The shift to LED technology has transformed the efficiency of outdoor lighting, with LEDs consuming up to 70% less energy than traditional lighting sources. Today, all of our luminaire sales are LED- based, meaning that every new installation helps to reduce operational energy demand. As lifetime electricity consumption remains the dominant contributor to product-related greenhouse gas emissions, our priority is to continuously push the boundaries of system efficacy and smart lighting performance. We help cities, utilities and infrastructure operators achieve deeper and faster energy savings by deploying adaptive and connected lighting solutions that deliver light only where and when it is needed.

As part of Schréder’s DMA, which was conducted in preparation for CSRD reporting, it was identified that sustainable products and services present the company with a financial opportunity and a means of achieving a positive environmental impact. From a financial perspective, the continuous development and introduction of innovative, energy-efficient lighting solutions to the market is a key opportunity for Schréder to strengthen its market position and generate sustainable growth. These opportunities primarily materialise within our own operations and commercial activities. At the same time, our products have a positive impact on the climate in the downstream value chain . By providing smart, connected, energy-efficient lighting solutions, we enable our customers to significantly reduce their electricity consumption and associated greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, our innovation strategy supports both our business development and the transition towards lower-carbon infrastructure. Policies and Governance Schréder is committed to mitigating climate change by developing and delivering sustainable products and services. This commitment is formally embedded in our Environmental Policy , which outlines how Schréder aims to support the transition to a low-carbon economy by providing lighting solutions that help customers reduce their energy consumption and achieve their carbon reduction targets.
