Pink October

World Day for Safety and Health at Work

Urban Mobility Training

Pink October has become a cornerstone of our global health and well-being initiatives, with coordinated participation across our sites in France, Portugal, South Africa and Ukraine, to name just a few. The initiative focuses on disseminating factual, life-saving information and promoting early detection, which remains the most effective way of improving outcomes for people with breast cancer. In France, our teams went further and made ergonomic, heart-shaped cushions designed to alleviate pain and tension for women in post- operative recovery, along with personal messages of encouragement. “On Pink Friday, our team came together in a powerful show of unity, all wearing pink to raise awareness of, and support for, cancer prevention. An inspiring session led by the Cancer Association of South Africa reminded us that small actions, such as regular check-ups and open conversations, can save lives. The day sent a clear message of compassion and solidarity: no one fights alone.” Carmen Amurjeeth Sustainability Ambassador - South Africa

To mark World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we reinforced our commitment to a proactive safety culture by implementing a series of initiatives centred on physical and mental health. This year’s programme moved beyond traditional occupational safety to encompass holistic well-being, offering nutritional health sessions, organised physical activity and even a ‘Potential Workplace Hazards Hunt’. By fostering a workplace where physical security and mental well-being are intrinsically linked, we are equipping our teams with the tools to prioritise resilience and cognitive health. “By integrating mental well-being into our safety culture, Schréder has shown that our health is a collective priority. These initiatives have provided me with the tools I need to prioritise my own resilience, while also strengthening my connection with colleagues outside of standard meetings.” Amalia Carvalho Community Lead - Portugal

As part of our commitment to sustainable transport, we organised several specialised cycling initiatives to support the safety of our workforce. These programmes provided comprehensive road safety training, combining theoretical modules on modern traffic legislation with practical sessions focusing on technical manoeuvres and urban navigation. To complement these road skills, bicycle maintenance workshops led by technical experts were held. These sessions provided employees with practical preventative maintenance skills, including puncture repair. These sessions ensure that our teams are better equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern urban environment. “Even for experienced cyclists, navigating traffic can be challenging. The safety training provided a valuable opportunity to hone our reflexes and keep up to date with changing traffic legislation. It’s a practical way to make sure we’re all better prepared for everyday cycling.” Anne Dome Product Infomration Leader - Belgium
