DIRECTIVE NAME

AREA OF APPLICATION

The ROHS European directive aims to restrict the use of 6 dangerous substances (lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chrome, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs).

2011/65/UE Directive

RoHS signies ‘Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances’ in electrical and electronic equipment.

Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) is a category of waste dened by European regulations as ‘equipment functioning with electric currents or electromagnetic elds, as well as equipment which produces, transfers, and measures these currents and elds, designed to be used at a voltage which does not exceed 1000 volts AC and 1500 volts DC’. In Europe, this directive aims to make the recycling of WEEE mandatory and establish the principle of producers’ responsibility. Consumers will contribute to this process by paying an eco-contribution or eco-tax, included in the purchase price for new equipment.
