Introduction The SHUFFLE 180 HDK is a kit module prepared for our partners to integrate their devices in a development phase with the probability of becoming part of the SHUFFLE range. With this kit it is possible to have a hands-on approach and explore the possibilities of device integration within the SHUFFLE 180 module. In a second phase, a more definitive solution is designed, validated, industrialized, and certified together with Schréder. Assuring that the product complies with Schréder quality standards and regulations. In the development phase, the integration of any device in the module is entirely the partners' responsibility. Please read carefully the “HARDWARE DEVELOPMENT KIT TERMS AND CONDITIONS” legal document. A printed copy is sent with the kit. 3D file in. step format is available upon request.

The SHUFFLE 180 HDK is a special purpose 180 module prepared for 3rd party development. It is supplied with:

• 3 polycarbonate protectors - transparent, opal, black

1 metallic mask protector

• 1 HDK aluminum protector with an external device plate

• 1 Gear plate - special gear plate that allows different mounting options.

1 External back support plate

Harness with connectors

The objective of this document is to guide the user on how to integrate a third-party device on a SHUFFLE 180 module. For certain devices, some steps might not be necessary or done in the manner described below. Please adapt as necessary, making sure the quality and safety of the product is maintained. Machining the components is possible if the module integrity and assembly on the SHUFFLE pole is not compromised. There is considerable handling and testing in a prototype phase. Certain parts can quickly be scratched or

blemished, especially the polycarbonate protectors. When handling, try to place these parts on a protected surface. Many parts are painted, the paint can become damaged when machining and handling. Please take care in protecting these parts when modifying them. Although the paint provides an extra protection to external environments during its installation, in this phase the only issue if the paint becomes damaged is the aesthetics.

SHUFFLE Product Summary

The commercial documentation of the complete SHUFFLE range is available on the Schréder website: https://www.schreder.com/en The SHUFFLE assembly is composed of modules, a pole, boxes, and cabling.

Position of modules

General considerations:

• The HDK module can be mounted in any of the 5 positions above the pole. • The SHUFFLE assembly can have a maximum of 5 modules. • The top of the last module has a cover instead of clamps. • If the SHUFFLE assembly has a 360 module, then it will be the last module. • The boxes are mounted inside the pole behind the corresponding door.

Contact Schréder if you would like to know if the module has any conflict with existing modules in a complete SHUFFLE assembly.

Mask protector

The Mask Protector 180 is an aluminum plate that covers the protector. Although it does give an additional impact protection, its purpose is aesthetic. It hides what is inside and it is painted in the same color as the module. It creates a cleaner design in the complete SHUFFLE assembly. It cannot be used with devices in which metal can interfere with its functions, such as communication, e.g., WLAN, wireless backhaul, etc. To access the inside the module, the embellishment plate is removed along with the protector.

External Front

On the external front, the HDK protector, in aluminum (CNC-machined), is mounted on the front of the module in the same way as the polycarbonate protector. The protector has a stainless-steel plate on which the device can be mounted. This plate can be replaced or modified to adapt to the device fixation. Behind the plate are 2 cable passages, a rubber cable grommet and a splittable cable gland. The splittable cable gland is for cables with connectors, for example a RJ45. This cable gland opens and is mounted on the cable instead of the cable passing through. These passages secure the IP rating of the module. Additional devices can be mounted inside the module. The maximum weight of the device must not be more than 12.5 kg 27.6 lbs.

Devices with areas exposed to high winds or vibrations need further validations.

Clamps & Cover

Cover

Clamps

The module is supplied with a cover and clamps. The cover is used when the module is positioned as the last module on a SHUFFLE assembly. The clamps are used when the module is positioned between 2 modules.

IP Protection

The gaskets used in the module are designed according to the Schréder guidelines and insure the ingress protection of water and particles. They cannot be removed from the design or substituted with other gaskets.

IK ratings The materials used, such as aluminum and polycarbonate, and the design of the module are developed to have a high impact protection rating of the module. Any new parts that are developed should take into consideration impact resistant material and design.

32

DOC-0021067 revB

Vents

The SHUFFLE modules have protective vents. Installed outdoors these modules are continuously exposed to harsh environments such as rainstorms, dust, sand and high winds. During changing environmental conditions, pressure can build inside a sealed enclosure, putting stress on seals. Over time stress causes seals to fail, which allows water, corrosive liquids, salt and particulates to enter the enclosure and damage the internal electronics. The vents mounted on the 180 body equalize pressure and reduce condensation by allowing air to flow freely into and out of sealed enclosures. At the same time, they provide a durable barrier to protect the electronics from contaminants. These vents cannot be removed.

Machining

If necessary, machining certain parts is allowed if it doesn´t affect the integrity of the module. Precautions should be taken when machining a part as to maintain the safety and finishing (removing certain

finishing and protection can create areas of corrosion) of the module. Please contact us if you have doubts if a part can be machined.
