Lightability TM a spirit, a mission, our beliefs

With a century-long tradition of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, Schéder pushes the limits of smart lighting. We are broadening our expertise to not only light the urban environment but also provide more services to interact with public spaces and the people in them.

We help local authorities establish open, interoperable platforms and provide easy-to- integrate infrastructure that not only improves the quality of life in cities but also the quality of democracy. We care about taxpayers’ money and provide the best cost/benefit for citizens. Hence we encourage more effective use of public finances by integrating public policies and operational cost reductions through new technologies. We stimulate active, open and inclusive participation of actors belonging to a city’s innovation eco-system, to foster the social, environmental and economic development of businesses and citizens. We strive to create inclusive environments that stimulate accessibility for people with disabilities, encourage gender and ethnic equity, and bring new opportunities to vulnerable places in cities. We encourage and implement training initiatives for citizens, planners and public managers on lighting & smarter cities in an open, transparent and non-biased way.

Your partner in sustainability

Schréder has developed a cohesive, company- wide sustainability strategy called “ Together for our Future ”. This commitment is structured around three axes encompassing the relevant prioritised UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sustainability is embedded into our strategy, structure, processes and culture. At Schréder, we collaborate closely with our customers to develop robust and long-term solutions to meet the challenges they face, while adding value with a positive, lasting impact on society and the environment.

PLANET

COMMUNITY

Being responsible for the planet

Being responsible for the community by having a resolutely positive impact on society through our solutions.

by reducing our own and our customers’ environmental impact.

PEOPLE

Being responsible for our staff members by developing human growth through diversity and respect for human rights.

Manufacturing according to the highest environmental standards Tri-ISO Certification accreditation: QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: ISO 9001:2015 ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: ISO 14001:2015. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: ISO 45001:2018

Schréder is committed to deliver a consistent level of excellence in product quality, service and customer satisfaction with safe working practices while having minimal impact on the environment.

Products designed for a circular economy Schréder takes the circular economy into account, right from the offset. From the concept phase, design guidelines not only take into account the production and environmental impact of our luminaires. They facilitate removing components and increasing the standardisation of parts and the materials' separability once their working life is over. The Schréder Circle Light Label designates products that are optimised for a circular economy without compromising on quality. We assess our luminaires to evaluate their potential circularity through 12 objective criteria in 5 categories:

Performance Maintenance Refurbishment Non-destructive disassembly Recycling

The right light where, when and how it is needed

The art of smart lighting consists of putting the kind of light you request where you need it, and taking it away from where you don't require it and when you don't want it. Schréder is your partner for maximising the advantages of lighting while taking care of the environment and improving your operational benefit. With our modern and versatile technologies enabling a " Dim It, Aim It, Tone It, Change It " philosophy, we offers our customers complete flexibility to modulate light according to any environmental challenge.

The right colour temperature at any time

The Schréder FlexiWhite solution offers you the freedom to use the right colour temperature at any time. Whether it relies on pre- programmed scenarios, works with the our remote control systems, uses sensors or a mix of all three, the FlexiWhite solution offers you the flexibility to provide the right level with the right colour temperature at the right place and the right time .

Valuing difference / Protecting human rights / Training and education

At Schréder, every employee is valued for her or his skill set. The diversity of the staff, in all its forms (skills, experience, age, gender, culture, etc.), is a source of renewal, innovation and creativity . Schréder has adopted the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct as its standard on human rights. Our goal is to protect human rights directly and indirectly by ensuring that Schréder’s entities and their supply chain are safe and that workers are treated with respect and dignity. Schréder has developed its own internal training academy called SKILL, which stands for Sharing Knowledge in Light and Lighting. SKILL’s mission is to increase Schréder employees’ and stakeholders’ competencies to successfully face changes in the lighting market such as smart lighting and new control systems.

SMART CONTROLS SCS is focused on Smart Control technologies, delivering solutions to clients that enable these Smart LED luminaires to become smarter. The equipped NEMA sockets on the luminaire connects a Smart Light Point Controller/ Node with an easy twist and lock mechanism. The Light Point Controllers enables these luminaires to be connected to a dedicated network and a User-Interface on a computer, which allows these luminaires to be remotely managed.

Key benefits:

Constant Light Output (CLO)

Dimming schedules

Additional energy savings (over 20%) by using the Constant Light Output (CLO) and Virtual Light Output (VLO) functionality

Reducing the amount of light when not required, thereby reducing light glow as well as get further energy savings

Pro-active maintenance

Smart City devices

The system reports errors and failures as they occur, helping to repair/ restore the luminaires pro-actively

IZYLUM EVO | PHOTOMETRY

LensoFlex ® 4

MidFlex™

The MidFlex™ photometric engine is based on the same principle as LensoFlex ® 2: each LED is associated with a specific lens that generates the complete photometric distribution of the luminaire. MidFlex™ takes advantage of the maturity of mid- power LEDs for professional applications. The MidFlex™ photometric engines are based on the combination of several modules of 48 mid-power LEDs tightly positioned to maximise the LED density. This concept provides high lumen packages with a limited product footprint. The MidFlex™ photometric engines offers excellent efficiency for a sustainable performance.

LensoFlex ® 4 maximises the heritage of the LensoFlex ® concept with a very compact yet powerful photometric engine based upon the addition principle of photometric distribution. The number of LEDs in combination with the driving current determines the intensity level of the light distribution. With optimised light distributions and very high efficiency, this fourth generation enables the products to be downsized to meet application requirements with an optimised solution in terms of investment. LensoFlex ® 4 optics can feature backlight control to prevent intrusive lighting, or a glare limiter for high visual comfort.

Embellishment plate

Diamond cooling blocks

This accessory not only provides a more aesthetic solution as it covers the wires supplying the PCBA’s with power, it also increases the lumen output thanks to its extra bright surface that reflects light out of the optical unit. Depending on the configuration, the embellishment plate can increase the lumen output by 2 to 3%.

IZYLUM 5 features newly developed cooling blocks on the upper side of the optical compartment. Their diamond shape has been carefully designed to minimise dust and water accumulation while providing optimal thermal management to maintain performance over time.

IZYLUM EVO | CONTROL SYSTEMS

Custom dimming profile

Daylight sensor / photocell

Intelligent luminaire drivers can be programmed with complex dimming profiles. Up to five combinations of time intervals and light levels are possible. This feature does not require any extra wiring. The period between switching on and switching off is used to activate the preset dimming profile. The customised dimming system generates maximum energy savings while respecting the required lighting levels and uniformity throughout the night.

Photocell or daylight sensors switch the luminaire on as soon natural light falls to a certain level. It can be programmed to switch on during a storm, on a cloudy day (in critical areas) or only at nightfall so as to provide safety and comfort in public spaces.

A. Dimming level | B. Time

PIR sensor: motion detection

In places with little nocturnal activity, lighting can be dimmed to a minimum most of the time. By using passive infrared (PIR) sensors, the level of light can be raised as soon as a pedestrian or a slow vehicle is detected in the area. Each luminaire level can be configured individually with several parametres such as minimum and maximum light output, delay period and ON/OFF duration time. PIR sensors can be used in an autonomous or interoperable network.

IZYLUM EVO | IzyFix universal mounting

Best-in-class tilting range The IzyFix universal fixation system enables a best-in-class range of mounting angle of 130°, to ensure maximum lighting performance for all kinds of road scenarios and offer the possibility of installing the luminaire in extreme situations as well. With a setting mark on the body and angles on the spigot, adjusting is carried out in 5° increments by loosening two screws. The wide tilting range enables more comfortable access to the gear compartment during field maintenance.

The Schréder IzyFix patented high-pressure die-casted aluminium universal fixation system is an integral part of the luminaire mounted in the factory. The IzyFix system aims to fit needs worldwide by meeting IEC and ANSI 3G testing requirements. It is intended to simplify life for customers and installers in the process of purchasing and installing luminaires for various applications. From post-top to side-entry in one movement The innovative design allows changing from a side-entry to a post- top position – even with luminaires ordered with factory pre- cabling – without any switching work on the fixation or disconnection from the pole. Therefore the type of mounting (horizontal or vertical) does not have to be considered when ordering. This unique feature also eases installation. After setting the correct position, an accessory is provided to cover the resulting space and ensure further protection of the luminaire.

Variation for all poles Due to the many different applications used worldwide, Schréder has created a range of fixation systems and reducers to satisfy all needs that might come up on the market.

IzyFix is suitable for: - Ø48mm spigot - Ø60mm spigot - Ø76mm spigot

IZYLUM EVO | ZHAGA-D4I CERTIFICATION

Cost-effective solution A Zhaga-D4i certified luminaire includes drivers offering features that had previously been in the control node, like energy metering, which has in turn simplified the control device therefore reducing the price of the control system. 2 sockets: top and bottom The Zhaga socket is small and suited to applications where aesthetics is essential. The architecture of Zhaga-D4i also foresees the possibility of putting two sockets on one luminaire, allowing for instance, the combination of a detection sensor and a control node. This also has the added value of standardising certain detection sensor communications with the D4i protocol.

The Zhaga consortium joined forces with the DiiA and produced a single Zhaga-D4i certification that combines the Zhaga Book 18 version 2 outdoor connectivity specifications with the DiiA’s D4i specifications for intra-luminaire DALI.

Standardisation for interoperable ecosystems As a founding member of the Zhaga consortium, Schréder has participated in the creation of, and therefore supports, the Zhaga- D4i certification program and the initiative of this group to standardise an interoperable ecosystem. The D4i specifications take the best of the standard DALI2 protocol and adapt it to an intra-luminaire environment but it has certain limitations. Only luminaire mounted control devices can be combined with a Zhaga-D4i luminaire. According to the specification, control devices are limited respectively to 2W and 1W average power consumption. Certification program The Zhaga-D4i certification covers all the critical features including mechanical fit, digital communication, data reporting and power requirements within a single luminaire, ensuring plug-and-play interoperability of luminaires (drivers) and peripherals such as connectivity nodes.
