Architectural lighting

The right light where, when and how it is needed

The art of smart lighting consists of putting the kind of light you request where you need it and taking it away from where you don't require it and when you don't want it. Schréder is your partner for maximising the advantages of lighting while improving your operational benefits and taking care of the environment.

Leader in photometric innovation

As pioneers in lighting technology, our lighting solutions deliver the right light in the right place. We have developed numerous photometric engines over the years to provide the best solution for every project in terms of performance, comfort, desired outcome and return on investment. We constantly strive to innovate and develop solutions that are as positive for people as they are sustainable for the environment. We combine our technical and photometrical know-how to meet the most demanding lighting standards . We can blend our photometrical excellence with bespoke design for excellent custom results. Our accredited laboratory, with our own goniophotometer and spectrometer, allows us to design and test photometry to suit all applications. With its PureNight concept based on high-end lighting designs with state-of-the-art photometrical platforms, Schréder offers the ultimate solution to bring the night sky back without switching off cities. With Schréder PureNight solutions, you can direct the light only where it is wanted and needed . PureNight: dark sky, bright ideas

FlexiWhite: provide the right colour temperature

To choose is to forsake. When it comes to deciding which colour temperature you will opt for, it is never a happy moment. You know that a colder white light optimises performance while a warmer one is more preferable to people and animal natural cycles. What if you didn’t have to choose? The Schréder FlexiWhite solution offers you the freedom to use the right colour temperature at any time . Whether it relies on pre-programmed scenarios, works with the Schréder EXEDRA remote control system, uses sensors or a mix of all three, the FlexiWhite solution offers you the flexibility to provide the right level with the right colour temperature at the right place and the right time.

An efficient and transparent process delivers quality custom products in a short time. It all starts with a feasibility study and a cost assessment. The design phase explores every possible way of delivering the result. We work with multiple software packages to provide the calculations and visuals to facilitate validation. To ensure that the final product will meet expectations at every level, we use rapid prototyping to test the functionalities. This allows stakeholders to explore the fine details while enabling us to propose improvements for the final design.

CONNECTED-READY Smart choices today, smart cities tomorrow

The decisions that city leaders take now will affect how cities, towns and villages will function in five, ten or twenty years. Lighting is an essential ecosystem and as residents and visitors’ needs evolve, urban infrastructure must be capable to adapt to this journey. With connected-ready technology, communities can be flexible and activate the future without changing their infrastructure. In hardware terms, there are two options. One option is to buy a connected-ready luminaire that comes with a socket, where a NEMA or Zhaga node can be added later. The other option is to buy a luminaire already fitted with a node, where the node is not yet connected to a CMS. The second option ensures that future lighting infrastructure can be connected instantly, without any manual interventions on-site, saving time and money. In addition, a luminaire that has been bought connected-ready, can easily have its unique asset data retrieved by a remote management system such as Schréder EXEDRA. This enables easy, cost-effective asset management through the connected functions. So connected-ready means the luminaire isn’t connected yet, but it can easily become part of a connected system if and when the asset owner wants to activate one. Once the nodes are installed, the activation of the nodes on the controls platform can be performed by the Schreder support team at any time upon a customer’s request. The platform is hosted and maintained in the cloud and provided “as-a-service” with access available through any standard web browser. It is instantly available for installed control nodes to connect to wirelessly using the inbuilt communication capabilities. Annual network and software services fees apply for each connected control node, and the services can be activated and discontinued as needed by the customer.

What are the benefits to installing connected lights with a control system?

Connected-ready lighting is a small decision to take today that provides a wealth of options for tomorrow.

Energy savings – Dim, schedule, manage energy with insightful reports Asset management – Manage luminaires inventory, detect failures quickly and organise maintenance Adaptive lighting – Light is only needed at certain times in certain places. We also know that these needs change according to seasons, holidays, special events etc. With the control solution, the ability to adapt light is limitless. Protecting wildlife – Light is there to support human activities. If not use wisely, it can harm fauna, flora and all type of wildlife. A control system enables you to set up scenarios that take into account wildlife and minise the possible negative impact of artificial lighting. Flexibility for the future – Buying the control solution also buys you future flexibility. The control systems allows you, in time, to change and evolve the attributes and behaviour of your lighting installationS. Smart city backbone – Connecting your lights opens up the ability to build new and future applications within your city. You are installing your foundation blocks to a smart city. Extensive data collection can provide insights and inform you as managers on all sorts of topics depending on which additional applications you might add. SO, LET’S GET CONNECTED!

SCHRÉDER EXEDRA COMPLETE REMOTE CONTROL As the most user-friendly remote control platform for intelligent street lighting, Schréder EXEDRA integrates advanced features for programming the most efficient dimming profiles based on endless variables (calendar days, special events, seasons, etc.) while providing safety, comfort and a sense of well-being for people. Schréder EXEDRA can integrate smart lighting applications such as the ability to adapt the colour of the light or build dynamic lighting scenarios through PIR sensors or radars. As it offers complete interoperability, Schréder EXEDRA can manage controllers/sensors and control luminaires from other manufacturers.

Together for a circular economy

With transparent criteria to assess our products, the Circle Light Label helps cities and industries adopt a circular economy and drive a positive future for all.

extracting raw materials

A circular economy is mainly defined in opposition to the traditional linear economy: take, make and dispose. In a circular economy, products are part of a value stream where they will be used for as long as possible. Then, depending on their characteristics, they can be reused, refurbished, upgraded or recycled. This leads to increased efficiency, reduced operating costs, greater resilience and a smaller ecological footprint. Benefits of a circular economy

It's in the DNA

Schréder has always designed products and services with sustainability in mind - it's simply what we do. Indeed, many of the lighting solutions we installed back in the 1970s are still working. We take the circular economy into account, right from the offset. From the concept phase, design guidelines not only take into account the production and environmental impact of our luminaires. They facilitate removing components and increasing the standardisation of parts and the materials separability once its working life is over.

A more sustainable, brighter future is a priority for everyone. At Schréder, we have always developed responsible lighting solutions to preserve and enhance landscapes. The Circle Light Label provides design guidelines to challenge our R&D team further for the community's benefit.

Circle Light

In this constant quest to innovate and be completely transparent with our customers, we launched the Circle Light Label. It designates products that are optimised for a circular economy without compromising on the quality. We assess our luminaires to evaluate their potential circularity through 12 objective criteria in 5 categories:

IZYLUM

FLEXIA

The luminaires are rated with a comparative scale from 1 star (least circular) to 4 stars (most circular). To support our customers in making an informed choice and developing a truly circular economy, only luminaires with 4 stars are promoted by us with a Circle Light Label.
