About Schréder and Urbis Schréder Who is Schréder ?

For more than 115 years, Schréder, an independent, family-owned company, has dedicated itself to exploring everything there is about the potential of light, constantly pushing the boundaries of technological innovations.

s

Expertise, passion, innovation, and sustainability drive 2300 employees to use the power of light for the safety and well-being of all, from public spaces to higher-risk environments, such as roadways to pedestrian areas and car parks where the consequences of a dark or dimly lit area can lead to injuries, incidents and undesired activities in the areas.

4

Urbis Schréder: leading where others follow Based in Basingstoke, Urbis Schréder has been delivering high quality lighting since 1977. Over the years, it has evolved into one of the UK’s leading providers of street lighting, exterior decorative lighting equipment, and interior lighting solutions.

High technical quality and aesthetic design is at the heart of the company’s philosophy and this, coupled with exceptional levels of customer focus, has led Urbis Schréder to develop the most cost effective, energy efficient lighting innovations for the campus environment in the UK.

The ability to make a real difference in the spaces we light, to stretch the boundaries of what is possible and to delight our customers is what makes us unique. It is what makes us Experts in Lightability™.

5

Why Urbis Schréder ?

Cutting-edge technology empowers campuses to elevate both interior and exterior lighting while substantially cutting costs. This extends to pedestrian areas, car parks, roadways, sports facilities, and architectural lighting, collectively enhancing visibility, safety, and aesthetics across the entire campus. Enhanced visibility not only diminishes the risk of incidents but also boosts confidence among the campus community.

Urbis Schréder’s extensive array of lighting solutions tailored for the campus setting, coupled with the company’s expertise and remarkable legacy in executing groundbreaking projects, ensures an optimal experience for students, faculty, and staff within diverse environments. Sustainability Sustainability has been a topic close to the hearts of the Schréder family shareholders for generations and is strongly anchored in our company’s mission statement.

• In 2019, we formalised this commitment by conducting our first materiality assessment. Based on the materiality assessment, we developed a cohesive, company-wide sustainability strategy. We called it the “Together for our Future” project and launched it in early 2020. The project is structured around three axes encompassing the relevant and prioritised SDGs and targets:

• Together for Our Planet • Together for Our People • Together for Our Community

EcoVadis

To monitor our sustainability performance and verify its alignment of our strategy and actions with external standards, we have carried out annual assessments of our performance through the EcoVadis platform since 2019. Schréder has been awarded a Gold in sustainability rating for the second time, with a score of 71 out of 100 points in 2023. This rating places Schréder in the top 5% of global suppliers across all industries and recognises our continuous progress in all areas with a special focus on our SBTi commitment to reduce our CO2 emissions.

Connected solutions

Connecting your luminaires is not just about adding in a control system to the products you are having installed, it’s much more than that. It is about control of the area you are lighting, the space the lights are in and the people who are using that space. It’s about delivering solutions beyond lighting for electric mobility, security, information and entertainment. Is the lighting suitable for specific areas? Is the goal to enhance security and reduce crime rates? What lighting choices will make a space more appealing to people? Do you require the ability to dim the lights during specific nighttime hours while maintaining the flexibility to brighten them in emergencies? Are you exploring energy-efficient and cost-effective lighting solutions for sustainability?

Connecting your luminaires is much more than adding a control system to the products. It is about customising an area to unleash its full potential.

By taking all of this into consideration, the place, the space, the people, the light, the control, let’s get connected!
